Raleigh Carpet Cleaning FAQ

Will the Basic Clean get my carpet clean enough?

I will tell you what to expect with each level of cleaning. The major cleaning steps not included in the Basic Clean are chemical spot removal and agitation. These can make a big difference in the final result, but sometimes you do not need them. The Basic Clean is appropriate for lightly soiled, frequently vacuumed carpets. If there are pets that live indoors a Deep Clean will go much further--you will be amazed at the hair I can dig up out of the bottom of the carpet.

Can you remove the black lines around the carpet edges?

I frequently see these black lines. They are called filtration soiling because it comes from air passing through the carpet as the heating system is pulling it through the crack below the baseboard. Microscopic deposits eventually add up to that black line.

Can this be removed? Sometimes. I will let you know what to expect before I perform the work. To help prevent filtration soiling from occurring further, change your air filters frequently and use your vacuum hose to vacuum the edge of the carpet.

Do you use "green" cleaning methods?

I use the highest quality and safest cleaning solutions available.

Do you have a guarantee?

I have a 100% money-back guarantee. If you are not thrilled with the service you receive, I will rush back to your home at no charge. If you are still unimpressed, I will give you a full refund upon request.

How do you clean carpet?

I use only the Hot Water Extraction method in people's homes. I will perform a low-moisture "dry" cleaning for some commercial applications, this is in low-soiling maintenance applications.

How long will the carpet take to dry?

The weather will affect this outcome, but normally the carpet will be dry in about four hours. You can walk on it while I'm working on it, and if you'll be in the house afterward, I'll provide shoe covers so that you can use your house while it dries.

Tell me about steam cleaning and dry cleaning?

Most major carpet manufacturers recommend (or require, in some cases) truck-mounted hot water extraction ("steam cleaning"). Hot-water extraction, performed properly, removes more spots and soil than low-moisture or "dry" cleaning.

Will my carpets be soaked?

No! This is a common concern, but when hot water extraction is properly performed, moisture does not penetrate the backing of the carpet. With Fiber Clean's powerful truck-mount, your carpet will thoroughly rinsed, will be left only damp to the touch, and will be completely dry in a few hours.

What about pet odor and stains?

I can help you with your pet-related carpet cleaning needs. My recommended solution will depend on the extent of the damage. I will explain the difference and find the best solution for your situation.

Pet odor is sometimes much deeper than it appears at first glance. Pet urine may be soaking into the carpet padding and the subfloor under that. This creates a bigger problem than an occasional pet accident on the carpet.

To eliminate this problem, the urine must be removed or neutralized from each of the affected layers. If the contamination is limited to only the face yarn of the carpet then the cleaning itself may effectively remove the odor. In more severe cases a urine neutralizer may be applied.

For the worst cases I recommend removing the carpet, sealing the sub-floor, replacing the pad, and treating both sides of the carpet.

Are you insured?

Yes.
